2007 Visitor Info Centre of the Year Awards

It was a night of glitz and glamour at the 2007 Visitor Information Centre of the year Awards.

The second awards night, sponsored by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), went off without a hitch and with happy faces for those who were lucky enough to take home a prize. As usual there were some execeptional nominiations, however there is only one winner in each category.

QICA congratulates all winners who are listed below:

Category One - Individual Award - for outstanding achievement by an individual (employed or volunteer) involved in the tourism information centre services.

Winner: Leslie Cameron - Charters Towers

Category Two - Visitor Information Centre staffed with only volunteers

Winner: Ravenshoe VIC

Category Three - Visitor Information Centre staffed with up to three paid staff and with or without volunteers

Winner: Wondai VIC

Category Four - Visitor Information Centre staffed with more than three paid staff and with or without volunteers

Winner: Charters Towers VIC

Category Five - New Visitor Information Centre or Major Renovation opened or upgraded in 2006

Winner: Gold Coast/Coolangatta VIC

Entries are only open to Visitor Information Centres and Individuals (employed or volunteers) of a Visitor Information Centre in Queensland who were current financial members of QICA as at 31st January 2007.
