Bauer's Organic Farm

Things to See & Do Lockyer Valley

One of Australia's first certified organic vegetable farms. Open to the public through advertised seasonal Food Forager's Days. It is run by organic pioneer Rob Bauer, his son Phil and their business partner Trudy Townson.

Description

We grow potatoes (Dutch Cream and Sebago), carrots, garlic, pumpkins, watermelons, womboks and lucerne, all certified organic. We are very excited about our certified organic lucerne hay, after a break from growing it for some years. Rob's ancestors settled the farm in 1885 and lucerne was one of the crops grown very early on.

At our Food Foragers Days you can pick up tips on growing organic vegies from the farmers themselves and take home a box of fresh potatoes or whatever is in season. We don't have a roadside stall .... you are welcomed into our farm.

Our flavoursome organic vegies have won numerous national awards (including a Vogue Produce Awards Gold Medal) and are popular with well known chefs, including Kylie Kwong, Kym Machin, Justin North, Alastair McLeod, Glen Barrett, Tony Tierney and more.

Our Foragers Days will be advertised on our website, facebook page and this website. You can also register as a "Bauer Buddy" (it's FREE) to receive our newsletters with VIP invitations to our Foragers Days and all the latest news from the farm. Go to: www.bauerbuddies.com.au to register.

To view a short video from Totally Wild, simply Google 'Totally Wild Season 22 Episode 131'. You'll see Ranger Stacey in the vegie fields and feeding some very happy cattle! Our segment runs from 8.20 mins to 12.14.
