Hidden away in the Gold Coast Hinterland is the internationally famous multi-award winning Tamborine Mountain Distillery. This is South East Queenslands smallest operating Copper Pot Still Distillery but of world renown. Although Michael and Alla Wards Distillery has only been open a short time (July 1998) they have already established a very enviable reputation as creators of high quality Liqueurs.Their 57 international gold,silver and bronze awards speak for themselves.This reputation largely developed by word of mouth has seen people coming not only from all Australian states but Europe,Asia,America,England and Canada as well.2005 was the most successful year to date with regards to International success in world competitions.In Chicago USA the Distillery picked up 6 Gold,5 Silver and 2 Bronze awards at the International Beverage Testing Institute.

Because of its unique design and size the Copper Pot Still that is used creates the superb spirit which is the essence and foundation of the Liqueurs,Schnapps,Vodkas and Eau De Vie.

The incredible range of fruit that is grown on Tamborine Mountain is a wonderful resource for the Wards to draw from to produce their world class variety of Liqueurs,Schnapps and Vodkas.The Distillery also receives a considerable diversity of fruit from other growers which they turn into beautiful smooth Schnapps,Liqueurs,Fruit Brandy,Gin and Vodkas.

The Wards have received worldwide coverage in the print media,radio and television.

In an endeavour to enhance the personal experience by being able to relate to small groups in telling their story,the Wards have deliberately made their driveway narrow to preclude busloads of people arriving en masse.
