2016 QICA AGM AGENDA

ITEM 1: QICA Constitution Updates
The QICA Constitution updates that were passed at the 2011 QICA Conference in Ipswich have not been registered by the Office of Fair Trading and are therefore required to be voted upon again before being registered as the new Constitution. The changes that were made can be viewed in following documents

Original constitution (pre 2011) showing changes required
Updated Constitution showing changes included – this is the document the Committee would like passed and once passed will constitute the new QICA Constitution.

The resolution is: To update the QICA Constitution as per changes included in the attached ‘Updated Constitution’ document.

Members have the opportunity to appoint a proxy to vote for or against this resolution on their behalf.

Item 2: Executive Committee Positions

In relation to Executive Committee Positions the current QICA Constitution states:

Clause 9.1 of the constitution states ‘the committee shall consist of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 representatives of member organisations’.

Clause 9.4 of the constitution states that ‘management committee members who have served at least 2 years will retire from office but shall be eligible upon nomination for re-election’’.

Members are required to submit nominations to be appointed to the management committee, by close of business on Tuesday 11 October, 2016.

The only current member of the QICA Executive whose term will carry over is Richard Blanchette – Tully VIC.

Positions available within the 2017 QICA Executive will be President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. If you would like to contribute to this growing organisation please send your nomination in by the required date.

ITEM 3: Visit Queensland MOU
Members voted at the 2014 conference in Mackay for QICA to engage the services of Visit Queensland as QICA Secretariat. The Memorandum of Understanding was for 12 months and was extended for a further 12 months at the end of last year on a no fee basis. QICA have been advised by Visit Queensland that they will not seek to renew the MOU once this current term finishes at the 2016 AGM.

The QICA Executive would like to thank Visit Queensland for their efforts and wish them well for the future. Visit Queensland will still be involved with the VIC network in Queensland as they are contracted by Tourism and Events Queensland to provide accreditation services for Queensland Accredited VICs.

ITEM 4: Minutes from the 2015AGM and Items of Business
A copy of the 2015 QICA AGM minutes can be viewed here. Please email the Secretariat no later than Tuesday 11 October, 2016 if you wish to place an item of business before the AGM.

I look forward to your involvement in the AGM and to seeing you at the conference.

Kind regards,
