Danbulla State Forest

Description

The state forest covers 12,000 hectares extending into the Tinaroo and Lamb Ranges which consist of World Heritage Rainforest, dry sclerophyll forests and softwood plantations. The drive provides access to volcanic craters, pleasant forest walks, a massive fig tree and interesting historical sites. Sections of the drive skirt the banks of Lake Tinaroo, which provides irrigation for the Mareeba and Dimbulah areas. Access to the lake is provided at a number of points and facilities are provided for campers and day users.
