For Visitor & Tourist Information Centres in Queensland

At the annual QICA Conference, the delegates of the conference raise funds for a local charity which is chosen by the host region. This year Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd selected Integrated Family & Youth Services (IFYS), a Human Services organisation in Maroochydore.

Through fines, misdemeanours and the debut of the Conference Auction, QICA raised $2,776.50 for the local IFYS branch. The QICA Secretariat spoke with Clint Lovell – IFYS Executive Support Officer and Inclusive Kids Community Fund Manager, at IFYS Head Office – Maroochydore who says, “IFYS Limited would like to thank QICA for their generous donation for these much needed funds, and that all money raised is ear-marked for the Inclusive Kids Community Fund. Inclusive Kids helps those aged between 0 -18 years old, who suffer from disadvantage in the Sunshine Coast and Moreton communities and operates on the proviso that 100% of all monies raised are donated directly back to the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay Communities. Without your much needed help and support, we would not be able to help those families and individuals who need it the most.”

Integrated Family and Youth Service (IFYS Ltd) deliver a range of specialist support and intervention programs for children, young people and families. Inclusive Kids Community Grants (www.inclusivekids.com.au) are designed to:

• Extend the capacity of a family to care for their child.
• Eliminate disadvantage such as inadequate housing, medical care, or educational access etc.
• Advance an individual’s participation in community life.
• Support an individual to live in the community of their choice.
• Provide equipment that assists with day to day life

IFYS Limited, working closely with businesses, corporations, governments and other charities deliver nearly 30 separate accommodation, child protection, counselling, education, social enterprises and support services programmes throughout the State of Queensland.

A big thank you must go to all the delegates of the 2015 QICA conference, especially those who were fined and who spent big at the auction!
